College contribution to the Centenary commemorations of WW1 in Cheltenham

College and the Archive department played an important role in the activities that Cheltenham organised in 2018, under the banner Cheltenham Remembers.  Mrs Rachel Roberts, the College Archivist, and a small team of volunteers created a range of historical materials relevant to the period, to be used across schools in Cheltenham.  College also recreated a field hospital for the weekend commemoration at the Racecourse (pictures below) which attracted thousands of visitors and a small College choir performed songs from the era.

 

The town’s project team was invited to submit the project to the Imperial War Museum digital showcase website, ‘Mapping The Centenary’ and it is now live on their site. You can view it on the link below:
