PRINCIPAL'S LECTURE

The Autumn Term Principal's Lecture will be given by Sir Terry Morgan, Chairman of Crossrail. 

The new railway will be a high frequency, high capacity service linking 41 stations over 100 kilometres from Reading and Heathrow in the west, through central London, to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. It will give 1.5 million additional people access to central London within 45 minutes, reduce journey times and create new journey opportunities.

In July 2018, the Department for Transport announced that Sir Terry Morgan would take over as Chairman of HS2 on 1st August to run concurrently with his post as Chairman of Crossrail Ltd. He is also Chairman of Ricardo plc.

Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of Tube Lines, a PPP company that was contracted to maintain and upgrade the infrastructure of the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. His previous positions also include Managing Director roles at BAE Systems, Royal Ordnance, and Land Rover. 

Terry is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Electrical Engineers, and is a Trustee of the Crossrail Art Foundation. He has an MSc in Engineering Production & Management.
