SPEECH DAY 2019

On Saturday 6th July, girls and staff were joined by parents and guests for Speech Day 2019.

The Right Honourable Dame Cheryl Gillan DBE MP (CLC 1963-1969, St Austin's), Acting Co-Chair of the 1922 Committee and the first Guild Member to hold a Cabinet post, gave an outstanding keynote address. Her motivating call to action encouraged the leavers and all in the Princess Hall to become involved in the big issues of the day: politics, the environment, and continuing global gender inequality.

Other highlights of Speech Day 2019 included the welcome from the Chair of College Council, Ms Libby Bassett (CLC 1971-1977, St Austin's), and the Principal's Address. Senior Prefect Valentina delighted the audience with a witty speech full of musical references, and a song of her own composition celebrating the leavers and demonstrating her hope that, like previous generations, they would remain lifelong friends.

Girls, parents and guests were also able to enjoy a film looking back over the leavers' time at College and another celebrating the theme of leadership at College.
