APRIL
LONDON MARATHON SUCCESS
Big congratulations to our super star runner Kate Wakeling! Kate ran the London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April and finished in a great time of just over 4 hours. She worked extremely hard to train and achieve such a big goal and did fantastically raising a total amount of £2,672 for St Hilda's East Community Centre. We appreciate all the hard work and effort that she put into this and we will always be grateful for the support received. We want to send our heart felt thanks to Kate and a massive well done for a truly incredible lifelong achievement. We are extremely proud of you and feel honoured to have been one of the many charities to be supported by such an amazing event. Well done and thank you! Best wishes from everyone at St Hilda's East Community Centre.
"I loved and enjoyed, almost every moment of it. The atmosphere was surreal and I felt famous running along hearing my name being called out almost all the way, whilst completing the course in 4 hours 2 minutes. A highlight was having Prince William hand me a bottle of water. It was a truly inspirational experience and I could not have done it without all your support, thank you so much." - Kate Wakeling

DEVELOPMENT AND FUNDRAISING VACANCY
St Hilda's East are advertising a Development and Fundraising post. This is an exciting role - a combination of organising community fundraising from sponsored events to Bake Sales, building links with local businesses to secure their support, sending out appeals to charitable trusts, as well as organising community activities and events. We are looking for someone with good organising skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and a commitment to the community. Ability is as important as formal experience. It may appeal to suitably motivated ex-CLC graduates who have finished university and in the earlier stages of their career. It’s an excellent chance to make a real difference!

Closing date: Tuesday 9th May, 10.00am.
LONDON LEGAL WALK - 22ND MAY 2017
A team of staff and volunteers from St Hilda's will be entering the London Legal Support Trust's sponsored walk again this year, along with a whopping 571 teams from other organisations!
This is a great event with teams completing a 10km walk through central London to raise money for free legal advice services - in our case our very own Advice Service, an extremely busy and valuable resource for our local community. The work done by our advice team makes a huge difference to our service users and every bit of funding we are able to raise helps us to do more.
Any support you can give our team would be fantastic, and make a real difference to the people we work with! Please consider sponsoring us online - at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/StHilda2017 - or contact Hannah Lancashire hannah@sthildas.org.uk for a sponsorship form.
