Guild Member Wins Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year
Congratulations to UC5 student Souny, a cellist, and recent leaver Darcy Beck (2012-2019, Bellairs), a percussionist, who were among the five finalists in this year's Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year competition.
We are delighted to announce that Darcy was awarded the title, following in the footsteps of current student, Hannah (UC5), who won the award in 2017.
They both performed in the Final at the Pittville Pump Rooms on the evening of Tuesday 3rd March along with fellow finalists, Bethany Loader (flute), Edwin Ward (piano) and Aaron Le Maistre (piano).
The photo was taken during a striking performance Darcy gave in 2018, using glow stick beaters.
