CLC Golf Society 2023
CLC AT THE TASSIE
24 schools took part in The Silver Tassie competition this year, which was held once again at the Berkshire Golf Club, on Monday 22nd May 2023. CLC entered two teams although it was touch and go with some last minute changes due to injury. Only one other school put up two teams so that is a great effort on behalf of our members!
The weather was dry but a little chilly, so most of us kept our jumpers on which meant we could not show off our CLC polo shirts! As always, the course was in great condition, albeit somewhat demanding, and whilst we did not come away with any silverware, we enjoyed our day and look forward to playing in the competition next year.

The Society’s Autumn Open this year is yet to be confirmed but will take place sometime in September or October so if anyone has any suggestions please contact Caroline Dixon directly – see contact details below. Once a venue has been chosen, further details will be sent out, so watch this space!
It would be good to see some new faces at our Golf matches (as well as our more familiar faces, of course!). We did welcome about half a dozen new members over the course of this past year, but, of course, we are always looking for new members whatever your handicap, so if you enjoy playing golf and would like to play at some different courses, please contact Caroline Dixon (caroline.dixon1956@gmail.com).

ANNUAL MATCH VERSUS SHERBORNE OLD GIRLS
Our match versus Sherborne Old Girls took place this year on 25th April at Sherborne Golf Club on a lovely dry and sunny day, which made a change to the last two occasions we played this match!
Both teams had ten players (an amazing feat!) so we went out in five pairs, playing 4BBB matchplay. The course was in fantastic condition and we had some close matches but in the end we managed to beat Sherborne 5-0! What a result for CLC and congratulations to all who played!
After the match, we had a splendid tea in the club house, so a huge thanks to Sherborne GC for making us so welcome. Next year it is CLC’s turn to choose the venue for our annual match and details about that will be circulated in due course.

Over the past year we have welcomed five new members into the CLC Golf Society, which is fantastic. However, we are always on the lookout for more new members, so if you enjoy playing golf and would like to play at some different courses, please contact Caroline Dixon (caroline.dixon1956@gmail.com).
