Carolyn Dodwell is delighted to confirm the date and arrangements for a visit to the iconic Lake District on Wednesday 12th October 2022. Carolyn would be delighted to welcome Guild members and their friends to her home in Bowness-on-Windermere for morning coffee from 10.30am prior to visiting the magnificent Arts and Crafts/CF Voysey country house called ‘Broad Leys’, which is home to the Windermere Motor Boat Racing Club. Built in 1899, ‘Broad Leys’ retains its beautiful architectural features, has breathtaking views over Windermere and is set in seven acres of grounds leading down to the lake.
The visit to Broad Leys will begin at 12 noon with a private tour of the building, followed by a 2-course lunch at a cost of £25 per person. The club’s private bar will be available to all guests for liquid refreshments!
Broad Leys has a limited number of bedrooms available (all beautifully maintained) for any Guild members/ friends visiting from outside the area who might wish to stay overnight.
For anyone also wishing to visit the iconic Arts and Crafts property ‘Blackwell’ (https://lakelandarts.org.uk/blackwell/), it is a mere five minutes away.
