MRS JOANNA COLLINS

Former member of Administrative Staff (from 1978-1993), died on Friday 20th January, aged 89.

A requiem mass was held on 2nd March.

Below is the article published in the 1994 College Magazine upon her retirement:

Joan Collins was a member of the Administrative staff from January 1978 to December 1993. She joined initially as a part-time switchboard operator and rose to the post of Secretary to the Deputy Principal  Pastoral and staff. Joan was also responsible for the production of the Prayers in a format which all could understand and could often be heard humming to herself as hymns were typed for Leaving Prayers.
Joan worked very closely with Shelagh Davson (Senior Mistress), Jemima Bristow (DPP), and, when they retired, for Sarah Roberts. She will be much missed by all the staff, particularly the Housemistresses with whom she enjoyed a good working relationship.
