Glos Area Visit to Kiftsgate Court Gardens 14/07/21
The first Glos area outing for two years took place on a glorious summer’s day in mid-July, when Guild members from Gloucestershire and further afield met for lunch at a pub in Mickleton before going on to explore the gardens at Kiftsgate Court.
Kiftsgate Court is a 19th Century manor house but the magnificent gardens are the main attraction. They were created by three generations of women gardeners throughout the 20th Century and are famous for their roses (in particular the Kiftsgate rose). Many of us are enthusiastic gardeners so it was fascinating to see how the gardens had been designed.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity of meeting Guild members again – both to see familiar faces and to welcome new ones.
