THE GUILD BEFRIENDING SCHEME
We have had a tremendous response to the article about the Guild Befriending Scheme in the recent Guild News publication and on the Facebook page. Thank you to all of you who got in touch with the Guild Office. If you know of any Guild or Honorary Guild members who would benefit from a call, please contact guild@cheltladiescollege.org so that they can be matched with a befriender.
BEFRIENDING
In response to the pandemic and day-to-day stories from Guild members connecting and supporting their communities, we are delighted to be piloting the Guild Befriending Scheme. The scheme is intended to connect members who do not have access to the internet to others who would be happy to be in regular contact by telephone.
Debbie Vass (née Stanton), a former member of College staff and an Honorary Guild member, will be co-ordinating a pilot scheme on behalf of Guild. If you, or someone you know, would appreciate receiving a regular call, or if you would be happy to call or support another member, further details can be found here.
Whatever your location, if you feel that this befriending service could help you, please contact either the Guild Office: +44(0)1242 256581, guild@cheltladiescollege.org or your local area representative (see list at the back of Guild News). Likewise, if you would be interested in becoming a befriender or can suggest people who might appreciate being befriended please contact us guild@cheltladiescollege.org. We will send you further details and guidelines. For befrienders, there will be some training in protocols and procedures in relation to safeguarding and confidentiality.
